Between the Canyons.

A second canyon garden, sited on a bench between two small ravines. The garden negotiates the steep grade with a series of quiet retaining walls and shaded stepping-stone walks.

Natives do most of the work: coast live oak, toyon, ceanothus, and a careful understory of ferns. A small pool at the house draws the light down; everything else is given to the trees.
