Set on a broad flat above the canyon, this Bel-Air garden was drawn as a series of green rooms — motor court, lawn, pool terrace, and shaded walk — each disclosed in turn.

Mature specimen trees anchor the composition; clipped hedges and limestone walks tie the architecture to the land. In two decades the planting has grown into the stately park the drawings imagined.
